So, I did what is suggested here and deleted the Finder prefs and relaunched (via force quit comm+option+escape).Whatever the older Macintosh computer is, to make it useful nowadays you’d likely want to find and download some old Mac software for it. I did notice that even when a disk looked like it burned correctly, it made the Finder quit and restart. I really don't believe it's in the media choice as these drives worked fine under Leopard with Sony CD-R disks.įinally, downloaded Burn to test.and it worked in the Pioneer 112D but not the 106D (this drive must have a hardware issue).
Tried this sequence: a) delete file b) SMC my machine (shut down machine, unplug power, hold start button for 10 seconds- you may want to unplug everything, I just did the power cord) c) PRAM reset restart holding the comm+option+P+R for 3 chimes d) download and install combo update 10.6.5 from the Apple websiteĪll to no avail. To no avail - Google it and read up, it's lengthy but start here:Ģ. Tried to DVRFlash the 112D drive with the new firmware/kernel. There was nothing on the Toast support site.ġ. I found that you could DVRFlash the DVR drives with the latest firmware 1.28 and kernel, but also found out that Mac OS doesn't care what firmware is installed, they should work.Īpple has some notes on their site, but nothing to fix this Toast/Snow Leopard break.
However, when I upgraded to Snow Leopard 10.6.5, both my drives would not work with Roxio's Toast 10.0.8 or with Apples built in burn! My DVRs (Pioneer 112D and 106D) had worked fine under Leopard 10.5.8 in a Mac Pro 1,1. Snow Leopard & Toast 10 = fails! Leopard+Toast 10 = works.
